Howdy!
So here it is, I finally got my act together and the QOD is back up and running. I've attempted this a few times publicly with mixed results, but I'm willing to give it another stab.
Over ten years ago I started the first QOD. QOD stands for Question Of the Day. I was being my regular smartass self and whipped off my own email questionnaire in response to getting the same boring, routine email over and over and over from the same circle of friends. It was time to ask something deeper than "chocolate or vanilla"? It was time to find out exactly WHEN was the last time you handled a frog? This is vital information, you know?
Like I said, I was being a smartass, but everyone responded. And the answers were amusing and insightful. It became a habit almost immediately. Nearly everyday I would send out a new round of questions then forward out the responses. Heaven forbid if I missed a day! People were expecting my round of riveting questions. I've always marveled at that. I also marveled at the circle of people who participated - an odd mix of my closest friends and a few co-workers. Most of these people have never met each other, but they certainly knew a lot of everyone's deepest secrets, tastes and tendencies.
I changed jobs and the practicality of doing this through email quickly fizzled. I tried to take it online, but I didn't have the circle of contacts to make this successful as my regular QODsters weren't comfortable with playing on the internet like I do. Today, I'm hoping that the word gets out, you will pass on the link to a friend and so forth.
The easiest way to play is copy and paste the questions into the comment section and then type in your reply. We'll see how this works out and hopefully it will be a lot of fun!
